First Halloween!

Terry and I were so excited for Tato's first Halloween. We decided to go to Gardner Village to see all the witches and stop by the candy shop for some old fashioned soda. The obvious choice for Tato's costume was a baby panda so we threw this little ensemble together. We don't own a sewing machine which is painfully clear but we made it work! Terry and I went as Zookeepers. We had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all the shops. It was a lot busier than we thought it would be, but I guess we did go on a Monday night, so that explains it. We ate at the resturaunt in the old mill (Archibald's I think it is called) and then we got pumpkin shaped sugar cookies at the bakery. By the end of the day the baby was exhausted. The only disappointment of the night was when we went to the candy shop to get the old fashioned soda (Peach Nehi to be specific), we found out they don't have it anymore! That is the only place I know of that carried that kind of soda so I was kinda bummed. If anyone has any info on the location of any Nehi soda, it would be greatly appreciated. : ) Here are some pictures of the day.

Baby's New Bed

Well our little girl has been sleeping in a pack n' play for two months while my mom lived with us but now that mom has moved out we have started setting up a nursery for Tato. We haven't gotten much done yet as Terry has been working alot, but the crib set my sister made for us (yes, the same sister who made her blessing dress) is just too cute to wait, and I had to show it off now. (I swear our baby would be dressed in potato sacks and sleeping on a pile of garbage if it weren't for my sister )

I wanted lady bugs because I'm a big fan of red and green. For some reason I have never been that interested in an all pink nursery. So Jessica followed through and made this lovely bedding set. To find out more details about this, and other projects she is working on go to her blog, The Bossy Quilter.

Please Don't Poop on the Dress

As many of you already know, yesterday was Tato's baby blessing and it went really well. Mom wanted alot of pictures posted up here because she misses the little cutie so I hope I got some good ones. She smiled alot yesterday but just won't smile for the camera! I got one of her smiling but her face is, of course, covered in goo in that one. I'll post it anyways. So the day started early at 7:30 (that is early for me). She woke us up at almost exactly 7:30 so it turns out we didn't need to set our alarms. We got her all ready and went to the church and I kept praying and praying that she wouldn't poop on the dress. We've been having a little bit of an issue with explosive poopies all over outfits so . . . I was nervous to say the least. We had a little scare right before the opening hymn but Terry had her changed into a clean diaper by the end of the second verse (he's such a pro : ) and she happily avoided the dress. Nathan did a great job on the blessing, and all of my wonderful brothers, my brother-in-law, and my best friend's husband stood in the the circle. It was a great experience. And of course I worried a bunch the night before for nothing! This is Tato's blessing dress and my talented sister Jessica made it for her. It's funny how you can have an older sister that you don't see very often but she completely gets your style anyways! I love this dress! I love everything about it! I love the length, the fabric, the sleeves, the feel of it. It was absolutely perfect for my little girl. I kinda wish I had another excuse to put her in it. But then I guess it wouldn't be her "blessing dress" anymore, it would just be her dress. After all the pictures we got her out of the dress to avoid the aforementioned problem. Terry looks so dashing in his suit. And Tato is always content when she is in her Daddy's arms.
After the blessing we were so tuckered out we went home and had jammie time.
Goo on the face picture, but hey at least she's smiling. : )
Oh no, someone doesn't want to take a nap.
Problem solved; thank goodness for binkies. Out cold.
Well it was a long tiring day but it was also alot of fun and it went really well. Thanks to everyone who could make it. We're so lucky to have such a supportive family!

Two Months Old

Today Tato is two months old. She was so brave at the doctors office for her two month checkup (Although I wasn't. I sat in the waiting room while she got her shots.) She only cried a little then she calmed right down. She was kinda sad and fussy all day though. She is still a chubby, healthy girl!

One Week Video

I know she's not doing much in this video, but for some reason I could watch it a hundred times. This is when she was about one week old. I totally love how her eyes dart around. She is such a curious little girl (and a sleepy little girl in this particular video).
